Fuel my artistry

I'm Lara, a contemporary Expressionist visual artist, surface pattern designer, and author from South Africa whose passion for making art, you would agree, is nothing short of inspiring if you knew what I have used to make it and how difficult it has been.

 For the past five years, I have been pouring my heart into every brushstroke, every design, every word—crafting work that speaks emotion, tells stories, and adds colour and meaning to the world.

But here’s the challenge: despite my dedication, I have struggled to sell my work and sustain my creative journey financially. For a talented artist whose every piece is made with love and skill, this has been a very disappointing, heartbreaking road. Without the tools and materials I need, continuing to make art has become almost impossible.

This is where you come in. I have launched a fundraiser through WhyDonate.com to acquire essential equipment and supplies that will allow me to keep doing what I love—and share it with the world. Every contribution, no matter the size, and every share is a lifeline and a vote of confidence in the value of my creativity.

* Printer, ink, and paper - for professional-quality prints

* Flatbed scanner - for digitizing artwork

* DSLR camera and lenses - to capture every detail

* Drawing tablet - for digital creations

* High-quality art supplies - like paper, paints, and brushes

* Art instructional books - to refine skills and explore new techniques

At the moment, I own none of the above-mentioned equipment and art supplies. 

My cellphone is also coming to the end of its lifespan, and soon, if it is not replaced, I will be cut off from the Internet.
